Thought I might aswell post this here, courtesy of Mr Golinsky on FB, thought it might be useful for some of you's who might not know this when driving in Europe....
1. They do things in KMH not MPH. The speed limits on motorways are however slightly faster at around 80mph. This is reduced when it is wet to around 70mph. They regularly do Radar speed traps and using a detector is illegal. Get caught doing 25kmh over the speed limit and you get your licence confiscated.

2. Speed limits in town are 50kmh which is about 30mph

3. If you get caught speeding or have committed any other traffic offence, it will be subject to an on the spot fine. Make sure you get an official receipt from the issuing officer.

4. Don’t bother drinking and driving, the limit out there is lower than England at about 0.5mg/ml.

5. Roundabouts, you give way to any traffic that is already on the roundabout on your left.

6. In case you get stopped, always have your V5, certificate of insurance and driving licence.

7. You must have either a GB sticker on the back of the car or GB licence plates.

8. Headlight converters are a requirement as are a set of replacement bulbs

9. Hi Vis jackets are a requirement, it is best to have one for each person in the car.

10. Warning triangle is a requirement

Failure to have any of the above items can lead to a fine, generally around 75 euro minimum so get them. You can pick them up on the ferry if you don’t have them.

Personally I'm gonna take all my docs and steal a high vis jacket from work and possibly buy a GB plate in the services on the way or something and steal a triangle from a mate..
