Car nut from Norwich

Just joined Cleaned Uk and thought i'd introduce myself.
I'm Jason and live in Norwich, Norfolk.
I got my first car in 1986, a 1977 Mini 1000 from my neighbour for £50. I was only 14 and spent the next 2 years restoring it. after that i got a 1965 Anglia Estate in 1990, that took nearly 3 years to rebuild.
Since those i've owned a MK1 Escort 1300 Sport, Mk2 and MK4 Cortina, Austin Maestro, another Mini, MK2 Escort 1.3 L 2 dr and MK3 Astra Cesaro 3 dr
I now own since June 2002 a MK1 Cavalier which i only use during summer for shows and runs and since last August a MK2 Golf which i've built over the winter.
The Cavalier is having a rest this year as i'm using the Golf.
As you've probably gathered i'm a bit keen on cars especially classics, though i appreciate any type of modified or standard motor.

Wooly.......I originate from South Norfolk, so there's a very slim chance of being related. Had i come from Norwich though, then who knows !!

Here's some pics of my previous, and current cars. Sorry for the fuzzyness of some, 'film' cameras !!!!
So starting with the first...........

1977 Mini 1000, 1st car owned between 1986-1990



then bought this 1965 Anglia Estate for £100 in October 1989 and over 2 1/2 years restored it totally, sold the Mini to finance it. Sold this in Sep 1994.



Sep '94 till Jan '95 i had this 1974 Escort 1300 Sport



I swapped it for this MK4 Cortina 2.0 L. I then sold it in the March to a friend.



i was then without a car until April 1996 when i got my second Mini, a 1983 1000 City



October saw change again, this time a 1984 Maestro 1.6 HL.people slat these but i found it really good, reliable and comfy car.



The itch for another classic had to be scratched so the Maestro made way in June 1997 for this, a 1970 MK2 Cortins 1300 deluxe.



This though blew its engine and was sold in Feb 1999. I then bought this 2 owner 1980 MK2 Escort 1.3 L from some friends. I really loved this car and even though it was in pretty good condition i went even further with it. This picked up a few trophies over the 3 years i had it. And it was my only car.

The Escort stayed with me until June 2002, i have always liked MK1 Cavaliers and so the Escort was sold to make way for this.............
March 1980 registered, 3 owners, 1.6 L 2 door. Ember Red. Alocal car ,i had to bring it back home from the 2nd owner who lived in Spalding, Lincs. It had 33K on the clock (it now has 57K) and has every piece of paperwork you can think of, all MOTs, Tax Discs, Service History. and loads more. The 2nd owner never used it in the 3 years he had it. Work got in the way so the mileage he did was from Norwich to Spalding, and thats all !!
I only use her for summer shows and runs. I picked up a 2nd place prize last year. I love her and will never sell.



To keep her really nice i also bought this, a 1994 Astra 1.4 Cesaro, 2 owners, FVSH. even though it was my daily, me being a car nut, i lavished lots of love and effort in this. She too was mint when i got her, and so she stayed.



I then started work as a taxi driver so in October 07 i had to sell the Astra as i had a company car, i then bought my own cab in May '08. A 2004 Vectra SXi 1.9 CDTI



She though was written off in December 2009 so in Feb '10 i got his 2005 Pug 407. But a slipping clutch saw me send it back after 2 weeks,



i then bought this which i still have.
A 2006 Exclusive 1.9 CDTI, 1 owner, FSH, 79k. I've done to date 47k in her and like my others she's pristine !! I really look after my cars, maybe i've OCD. But who cares, i love all the cars i've had, and got. Hope you enjoyed my ramblings and seeing my car history.

Impressive history tbf! escorts and Cav in particular are lovely! I would love an Escort Mexico! Amy be silly question, but are they RWD?

Only the MK1 and 2 Escorts and MK1 Cavalier.
