Here's my 2001 jazz blue Lupo sport. It’s currently on 91661 miles and has been very well looked after. I have very good service history and all receipts from the previous owners along with receipts for parts and maintenance. Any new parts it has had have been oem or a high quality equivalent. It had a brand new gearbox 10,000 miles ago so the usual Lupo gearbox problems are no longer an issue. It’s been such an awesome little car in the short space of time that I’ve owned it but unfortunately, being a student I can’t justify running a car whilst being at uni. Its great on fuel, I regularly see 40 mpg, and insurance friendly too.
Good bits:
MoT until 29th May
Tax until 31st May
New gearbox as mentioned
New pads and discs, handbrake cables and general checking over at 91,059.
New battery and alternator at 88,000
New rear engine mount at 89,000
Cambelt and clutch done at 60,000
4 branch manifold
Full stainless powerflow exhaust with de cat
Momo team 300mm
Mk4 Gti Recaros
Lowered on coilovers
7 x 14 Borbet t's with 155/55/14 Nankang NS2, with lots of life left in them.
Carefully constructed false floor covered in dark grey carpet to match the rest of the interior.
Very, very clean interior.
Very good body work condition apart from one minor blip (will be mentioned later)
Oil and filter change every 8,000 miles
Retrimmed door cards.
As always there are a few minor problems:
There is a bit of paintwork chipped off where the previous owner ran wheels with a bit more poke than intended which scrubbed the arch. The damage is shown below.
Drivers front window doesn't work, needs a new regulator as all the switches have been replaced.
The temp gauge is temperamental, however this does not affect the way the car runs and is down to a dodgy sensor. These are available for £28 from VW. However, at the moment it seems to be working.
The boot handle sometimes sticks shut, not a massive issue. But in the worst case scenario a new boot lock will be supplied.
Slight bit of wear on the drivers seat, hardly noticeable but just want to be honest.
